FINANTA Invited to Present at AEO Conference
FINANTA Invited to Present the FINANTA ROSCA Program
at the 21st Annual AEO Conference
We are proud to announce that FINANTA was invited to present our FINANTA ROSCA program at the Association for Enterprise Opportunity’s (AEO) 21st Annual National Micro Business Conference. AEO’s national conference is considered to be the most comprehensive conference on micro business in the United States.
FINANTA is very excited to share the unique program design of the ROSCA program with similar organizations in hopes that the program will be expanded to other communities throughout the United States.
The FINANTA ROSCA is based on providing a micro-loan to all participants at the start of the cycle, as a strategy for delivering technical assistance, facilitating access to capital aimed at consolidating micro-enterprises, and building credit, thus paving the way toward the use of formal financial services by underserved and under-banked micro-entrepreneurs, particularly minorities and immigrants.
Since launching the program in 2011, 64 micro-entrepreneurs have participated in the FINANTA ROSCA; 81 micro-loans have been extended, ranging in size from $500 to $9,600, for a total FINANTA ROSCA investment of $272,300 since July 2011.
The conference is being held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC and will take place from Monday, April 30 – Wednesday, May 2, 2012.
